About SNAP of Gallia County

  • All-volunteer charitable organization

  • Serving Gallia County, Ohio

  • Offering spay/neuter assistance

  • Providing education

SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program) of Gallia County is an all-volunteer organization. We serve the community of Gallia County, Ohio by reducing the number of unwanted cats and dogs. We do this by providing access to low-cost, or no-cost, spaying and neutering, and through education concerning the importance of spay/neuter. Our organization is proud to use, and recommend, French Town Veterinary Clinic, Kirkpatrick Animal Hospital, and Help for Animals Spay/Neuter Clinic for these spay and neuter procedures.

We provide the access to qualifying pet owners, and to individuals caring for stray or feral cats, or pound or shelter dogs and cats. SNAP volunteers or board members review applications to determine if an individual qualifies for assistance, based on different factors, such as income and number of cats and dogs.

SNAP also participates in cat trapping-neuter-return (TNR) initiatives. For information on feral cats, TNR, adoption, and other pet topics, see our Resources page.
